The Athenian Empire was more commonly called the Delian League. It dissolved in 404 BC at the end of the Peloponnesian War. There is a link below.

The Greeks colonized Asia Minor since the 13 century BC [Aeolians, Ionians] and left the region with the exchange of populations [Greeks and Turks] caused by the Treaty of Lausanne. The first Turks arrived in the area at approximately the 11th century BC. Until 1453 they had conquered the lands of the Byzantine Empire and lasted until 1922 when the Ottoman Empire was dissolved and the new State of Turkey was created by Kemal Ataturk with lands as known today.
