The man in the street, the mythical average Joe- people of his generation. In a way he wants to get (Society) off the hook . The song, which used a huge compression of about thirty odd years of largely un-related historical events- used a jumbo-screen and edited video tapes to back up the spiel. Though we didn't light it, we've been trying to fight it, implies at least some social activism. It is a silly song in many ways, I don not like it.
