Becoming a BoxerThere are a few ways you can become a boxer. To get started, find a gym that supports fighters. Boxing Gym, Martial arts ETC.... then you can either registeras an amatuer or go pro... all you have to do is get a form from the athletic commission in your state. the fees should be 35 for amateur or 55 for professional.
FIRST OFF THE YOUNGER YOU GET STARTED THE BETTER. FIND A GYM IN YOUR AREA, IF YOU ARE FROM A SMALL TOWN OR RURAL AREA IT,S HARDER. I BOUGHT A HEAVY BAG, SOME BAG GLOVES AND SENTS OF 12 oz AND 16oz. GLOVES. I PESTERED ALL MY FRIENDS TO SPARE AND THEY STARTED TO AVOID ME. IF YOU ARE OLD ENOUGH TO DRIVE GET TO A CITY FOR A GYM AND EVEN THEN ALOT OF THE SMALLER CITIES DO NOT HAVE BOXING. CHECK OUT PLACES LIKE THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUBS ,YMCA,CHURCH GROUPS BELIEVE IT OR NOT. MOST GYMS WILL LET YOU CHECK IT OUT TO SEE IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT AT NO CHARGE. I HAD TWO GYMS WHEN I GOT OLDER. YOU WILL SEE THAT NO ONE WILL PUT YOU DOWN FOR TRYING. IF YOU JUST WANT TO LEARN,KEEP IN SHAPE,AND HAVE SOME FUN THATS GREAT.NO ONE WILL BUG YOU TO SPARE. YOU'LL KNOW IN YOUR HEART IF YOU WANT TO COMPETE IN THE ONLY SPORT THAT IS,NT A GAME , IT'S ONE ON ONE.A NOBLE SPORT. TAKE IT AS FAR AS YOU WANT OR AS FAR AS YOU CAN. THERE IS NO FEELING LIKE WHEN YOUR ARM IS RAISED IN VICTORY.
Yes, it is.It is Considered a sport by the NAD (National Athletic Department) and is the only offical sport besides Nascar that does not have a ball.
