Raymond Shane Dye
He was the 9th Triple Crown winner. He won it in 1973. Before him there was Sir Barton, Gallant Fox, Omaha, War Admiral,Whirlaway, Count Fleet, Assault, Citation. After Secretariat there was Seattle Slew and Affirmed. (they are listed in order)
when secretariat ran in the 1973 belmont stakes, the last race in the triple crown, he ran his last half mile in 43 seconds flat and his second to last in i think 47 or 48 seconds. he won the race by a world record breaking 31 lengths, which is the distance from the nose to the end of the tailbone on a horse, and his record still stands unbroken as the fastest time in history...he was the first horse in more than 25 years! so you could say he was REALLY fast(you do the math but he was moving at about 40 mph!imagine having to ride that!!!)hope it helps and happy trails...
A horse has jumped a 2 metres and 47 cm Witha human on their back. And has jumped 2 metres and 80 cm with out a rider.
