The age of consent varies by state (and country to country). Even if the girl says she consented to have sex with him, if she was below the age of consent, it is statutory rape. Anyone can report him and the state press charges. If either the man or the girl admit that they had sex before she reached the age of consent (or the pregnancy proves it) the man can be convicted of statutory rape. The fact that the girl testifies that she doesn't want him to go to jail or that it is consensual is irrelevant. Her age renders her unable to legally consent with an adult man. If she is above the age of consent, she may consent to sex without it being rape.
Many American parents are aware of the danger that smoking cigarettes pose to everyone's health. These parents in the past were alarmed that too many of their children were smoking outside the home, and were exposing themselves to the danger of inhaling tobacco smoke. To a lesser degree, they were also alarmed at the idea of their children paying high prices for cigarettes. The decline in the US tobacco industry points to the fact that less Americans are smoking compared to 10 or 20 years ago. With that being said, most parents are happy about the decline in tobacco companies and many young people are not becoming addicted to smoking as they have in the past.
No, your parents are right and it is their home. For some reason children often think as a whole, such as it's their parents and their home, but who pays the mortgage and the bills in that home? They do! If you are disrespectul, don't lend a hand around the house and are 18 years old, then it's time to move out and find your own place and then you can do whatever you like. Home should be a place of respect and each person pitches in to make life tolerable for each other. If you want your parents to change their attitude towards you then start helping out around the house and showing some maturity.
The legal age in the state of Florida is 17 for both male and female without parents permission.
