The phrase "patience is a virtue" is just a way of expressing the importance of being patient. A virtue is a trait or quality deemed to be morally excellent and thus is valued as a foundation of principle and good moral being. Patience can make us better people. The definition of the word is to tolerate delay implying self control and forbearance. When we say "patience is a virtue" we are exposing our moral values and expressing the importance of patience as a foundation of principle. So to answer the question patience is not a virtue until it truly becomes a virtue and knowing how diverse the spectrum of individualism is I'm sure patience is a vice(opposite of virtue) to some. Patience is a necessity for a happy existence and that is why the phrase is so often used.
"Nothing gives one person so much advantage over another as to remain always cool and unruffled under all circumstances." Thomas Jefferson
all good things come to those who wait
"Patience is a virtue, have it if you can.
Seldom found in woman,
Never in a man"
Here is the truth about patience:
Patients is a virtue because it is developed through difficulties and troubles. When men or women lack understanding of the order of God, it is impossible for them to except nor understand God's way.
Found in Proverbs 14:12 and Proverbs 16:25 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end there of are the ways of death.
Just read below and understand:
Romans: 3And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
This is how important patience is:
Luke 21:19 In your patience possess ye your souls.
Change. Such a small word with such a grand amount of definitions. When one hears the word change they may reach into their pocket and pluck out their LUCKY penny, this means you are a meaningless pawn in the thing we call a giant fish tank. The waves change, they may knock you down, but they don't tell you what do you do in order to become impregnated.
Change is related to growth. If you do not change, you do not see, hear, feel, know or go toward anything more than what you are now. In order to gain, in any way, you must change what "is" now.
The game with change, is trying to manage the trends inherent in change. How do you manage change? Study change and you will find out. It is a far easier thing to manage change than you may imagine. Changing is choosing. Nothing more.
Set a goal for something you want. Today. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Within the next two hours. Now... you have managed change. You have stepped from allowing uncontrolled random change affect you into controlled deliberate change affecting you.
Our India is blessed with different religions and traditions followed in different States where 'Communal Harmony' is a very much considering concept. From so many years we all are living in our country very happily which proves that we respect harmony in society. So I think India is a best example on "Communal Harmony" in the world.
Basically we all are society lovers. Nobody can live without company in his whole span of life. So, we must respect every person in our society. Life without people is a boring concept. So for making our life beautiful it is necessary to make our society beautiful and its not possible without harmony. So, for making society good it is my responsibility too to behave well to the society. Good Society does not means the camp of one cast or community. It is necessary to be a good human being is our first religion/ reference. If I need support from the society then it is my responsibility also to support the society too. And if I think every one keep this in mind then Communal Harmony automatically take its place. While making our life successful/ good, we must support others in the society to make there life good too or at lest we must take care that we are not disturbing other life's' for our own success. And I assure that if we take this care then we automatically support our societies progress with good harmony.
In India it is hopeless to say this is my area or this is yours. Actually because of different languages/ religions automatically India is divided into small parts. But it does not mean that person from one part cannot interfere in another part. But while for survival we are migrating form our region then it is our responsibility to respect the original traditions, peoples from that part of the country. If we live happily giving required space and respect to others then no matter where you from.
If I know the rights of others and also my responsibility towards the society then Communal Harmony is not a very conflicting concept. Following the Live and let live principal automatically helps to create Communal Harmony in the society.
The Nature of Life -- No Single Answer This is a question that has never been answered satisfactorily, and perhaps will never be. It has been the subject of many philosophical and scientific discussions. I recommend reading the effort at http://people.reed.edu/~mab/papers/life.OXFORD.html for a taste of the range of answers.
In truth there is almost certainly no single answer. A class of answers, each pertaining to a different form of life might be as close as we can get (I am aware that this is a circular argument - it demonstrates the value of circular arguments). Of course that class might continually expand without limit, and in unpredictable ways. Its members might have only one thing in common, namely their inclusion in the class. Accepting this thesis will allow an answer to the question, but it is not a really useful answer. The question being asked here is how to decide what to include in the class, not what is already in, or might at some future time be in, the class. Even so, this approach to the question can be instructive. For instance, is 'artificial life (AI) in the class? Is the computer program called "Life" in the class? Are viruses in the class? Yeasts? DNA? As with many important questions, this one may be incapable of a simple answer, but it raises some very interesting questions. There are some things that would usually be said not to be in the class: for instance an atom of hydrogen, a diamond, an iron bar. It is at least possible therefore that the class of 'Non-life' is not empty. Logic has it that a thing is either in the 'Life' class or it is not. If it is not in the 'Life' class then let us agree to put it in the 'Non-life' class. Now we are asking the opposite question: what is 'Non-life'? We may be in a vicious circle here (not all circular arguments are 'virtuous').
Having said all that, there are some attributes that must be displayed by any form of life. I will not pretend that this list is comprehensive (but it may be).
* It must reproduce itself
* the reproduced forms must have this trait also, and so on indefinitely.
We could specify here that any form of life must have a 'soul' of some kind, but I fear that many would disagree with this. Both the Rationalist who might say there is no such thing as a soul, and the Religionist who might say that only the higher animals (maybe only humans) have a soul, must certainly disagree, and perhaps others too. Anyway, to require a 'soul' would beg the question 'what is a soul'? It is a perfectly good question, but it is not being asked here.
