Weight is a very good approximation of MASS... but to determine EXACT mass is something you'd not be able to do in the "backyard."
Weight and mass are considered equivilent on the earth's surface. That is something that weighs 1 kilogram on earth has one kilogram of mass. It will only weigh 160 grams on the moon but will still have 1 kilogram of mass. To estimate the mass of an apple without a scale is to see how much water it displaces.

A pound is the gravitational pull on an object, and the more mass, the more that something weighs. When using a scale, a pound of gold is the same as a pound of water, there is just less gold than water present because gold has a much higher density (and thus when placed in water, it sinks)
I assume that you want to know how many oz. of water weigh a pound? It is approximately 16.9 oz, although that varies as temperature and pressure affect the weight. If the temperature goes up, you can drink more water because water expands as temperature raises. If water is near freezing, you should drink slightly less than 16.9 oz. as the weight of water, measuring the same area, will go up.
Water is a unique substance in that when it freezes, the density actually goes down and it floats. Thus, a large amount of ice would equal a smaller amount of liquid water.

ANS:Arrgh, you're all full of baloney. 'Pound' is a MASS unit. The 'Pound-force' is a WEIGHT unit. One pound of mass weighs one pound-force at sea level on earth. You could also call the pound-force a poundal. A poundal = 1 pound-mass x 1 ft/sec2 which at the surface of the earth, the acceleration on a 1 pound-mass object is 32 ft/s2. Let's use Newtons and avoid the argument.

Logically speaking sand is also a type of soil in which belong to the 3 textural fraction know as Sand Silt and Clay. This textural fraction makes up the Soil Texture. (Sand, Loam, and Clay). We consider a soil as sandy when it contain 70% or more sand. Clay when it contains at least 40% of Clay.

first unplug the unit. the console has to be tilted you most remove two screw to do this one is on the far right the other is on the far left. note the new models under about six years old the screw are on the back of the console. after tilting the console you need to remove to large clips far left and right they're a goldish color use a regular screw driver to pry these out they release at the front of the clip use caution this is the hardest part of the job as a newbie. now unplug the quick disconnect on the cabinet locate under the console right hand side. now the cabinet is ready to be removed lift up and forward set cabinet out of your way. now locate the pump to hose going to it in the middle of the washer at bottom. remove the two clips no need to remove hose will make water mess pull pump forward and off push to the side out of your way. now two clips on the motor needs removed they're is two screws one on each clip they will be removed 1/4 or 5/16 then remove the clips the motor it will basicly fall off pull it out so you can see the other end of the motor that is where your coupling is located. remove it off the motor and the other side of the coupling off the transmission install new coupling reverse your steps your done thanks Joe Lecompte firstname.lastname@example.org im me at frenchokie
