He died in a wrestling match in the World Wrestling Federation days ( before WWE ), Jim Ross ( a commentator ) had to warn the fans that it wasn't planned, Owen Hart was dead. This accident happened in 1999. Before he died he was part of the Hart foundation with his brother Bret and Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart.
On May 23, 1999, Owen Hart was preforming his ring entrance at Over the Edge pay-per-view event. He was in the process of being lowered via harness and rappel line into the ring from the rafters of the Kemper Arena. As Owen Hart was being lowered into the ring, something went wrong with the stunt harness, triggering the release mechanism early as he was being lowered. Owen Hart fell 78 feet into the ring landing chest-first on the top rope, approximately a foot from the nearest turnbuckle, throwing him into the ring. He was pronounced dead upon arrival to the Truman Medical Center in Kansas City. His cause of death was later revealed to be internal bleeding from blunt chest trauma

No. He will NOT return until he has signed a contract. Even if he did sign, it wouldn't be in time for next week. But for other spoilers, MNM will probrably win the Tag Team Titles back and JBL *might* just might defeat Batista for the title since he doesn't have to be pinned. No, he's not under contract and decided to look at other employment, right now.
